Day 1KL - Chengdu

Gather at Kuala Lumpur International Airport to board the flight thats heading to the capital of Sichuan Province, China – Chengdu. Due to its unique location between the Yellow River and the Yangtze River, Chengdu has become a famous cultural corridor in Chinese history, nurturing the distinctive Ba-Shu culture in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. Upon arrival, proceed to the airport and transfer to hotel for rest, Getting ready for the initial journey into Tibet.

Day 2Chengdu - Haizhi

Embarking on a morning flight to the charming southern part of Tibet, Nyingchi, nestled at an altitude of 2500 meters, promises an enchanting experience. As you touch down in the south-eastern town of Bayi, just 55 kilometres from the Yarlung Zangbo River Valley, Sweet Nyingchi Airport welcomes with a scenic descent over verdant landscapes, rugged mountains, and meandering rivers. Nyingchi, renowned for its lower altitude and higher oxygen content, facilitates a gradual adaptation to the high-altitude climate. Today’s schedule encompasses a visit to Binghuagou, adorned with blossoms, reflecting pristine snow-capped peaks in the crystal-clear Nyang River. The journey unfolds through the Sejila Scenic Area, revealing the stunning Sejila Mountain covered in rhododendrons during spring and summer. Marvel at the 15th highest peak globally, Nanjia Bawa (7787 meters), a mystical beauty draped in clouds, lauded as China’s most beautiful snow mountain by National Geographic. Continue on the journey to Lulang Pahai to witness the untouched beauty of eastern Tibet. After exploring, return to Nyingchi to visit the ancient Nyingchi Wang and colossal Nyingchi Hou, both with a history spanning 2500 years. Day 3Haizhi - Lhasa

In the morning, drive to the enchanting Baqi Lake, often hailed as the “Little Switzerland” of Tibet, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and known as Cuo Gao Lake. This mesmerizing destination captivates with crystal-clear waters, resembling a fairy tale as it peacefully rests beneath the glaciers, like a soft bed on the grassy shores. Upon reaching Baqi Lake, explore the scenic Fairy Island at the heart of the lake and indulge in leisurely walks. After the visit, drive over the 5230-meter-high Mila Mountain, passing through Mochu Gongka and Dazi Plains en route to Lhasa. In the morning, visit the winter residence of the Dalai Lama, the majestic Potala Palace, located on Red Hill in the city center. As the highest ancient palace complex in the world, the Potala Palace has been the historical residence of successive Dalai Lamas and the spiritual and political center of Tibet since the 7th century. The construction of the palace involved creating ponds with collected water from the surrounding area, including the serene and famous Zongjiao Kang Park nearby. Zongjiao Kang is the most renowned water feature near the Potala Palace, offering reflective views of the palace in its clear and tranquil waters. All photographs capturing the Potala Palace are taken from the perspective of Zongjiao Kang. Experience the authentic life of the Tibetan people. In the afternoon, proceed to the sacred site of Tibetan Buddhism, the historic Jokhang Temple, in the heart of devout believers, also known as the Tubo Ancient Temple. Explore the bustling Barkhor Street, the liveliest pedestrian street in Lhasa, browsing through various handcrafted markets filled with ethnic and exotic handmade products. Visit Marjiami, the legendary meeting place of the Sixth Dalai Lama. Special arrangements for an evening tour of the Potala Palace Square, allowing you to experience the solemnity of this palace. As night falls, witness the Potala Palace, a symbol of Tibetan Buddhism for millennia, radiating an indescribable charm.

In the morning, depart from Lhasa and traverse the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains via the Qinghai-Tibet Highway to reach the world’s highest saltwater lake, Namtso (elevation 4718 meters), covering an area of 1920 square kilometers. Namtso, meaning “Heavenly Lake” in Tibetan and Tengri Nor in Mongolian, appears as if the sky has descended to the earth—a true celestial lake. The lake’s vast shoreline, rich grasslands, and crystal-clear waters make it a spectacular gem embedded in the vast expanse of the Qiangtang Grassland. After the tour, return to Lhasa by car, along the same route. Along the way, enjoy distant views of the perpetual snow-capped Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains, experiencing the vast and expansive natural beauty of the northern Tibetan grasslands beneath the blue sky, white clouds, and snow-capped peaks. Explore the traditional Thangka artistry. Return to Lhasa in the evening.

Day 6Lhasa - Gyantse - Shigatse

Departing from Lhasa, ascend to the 4900-meter-high Gangbala Snow Mountain, catching a distant glimpse of the Gangbala Radar Station, en route to the world’s highest freshwater lake, renowned as the Heavenly Lake—Yamdrok Lake. The crystal-clear lake waters, towering snow-capped mountains, and pristine blue sky merge into a harmonious spectacle, captivating, awe-inspiring and cleansing to the soul.  Witness the millennium glacier, Karola Glacier, and travel around Yamdrok Lake to reach the filming location of the movie “Valley of the Red River” – Shigatse. Visit the remarkable Sakya Monastery, the only one in Tibet that integrates three major Tibetan Buddhist sects. Admire the exquisite murals and carvings, and the renowned 100,000 Buddha Stupa at Pelkor Chode Monastery. Gaze into the distance from the Zongshan Platform before heading to the key town of Rear Tibet, Shigatse. Feel the profound spirituality of Tibetan culture and Buddhism, experiencing a soul-stirring sensation like never before.

Day 7Shigatse - Lhasa

In the morning, visit the sacred resting place of the Panchen Lama, Tashilhunpo Monastery, one of the six Gelug monasteries in Tibetan Buddhism. Initiated by the First Dalai Lama Gendun Drup in 1447, it later became the seat of successive Panchen Lamas, including the present Erdini. Inside the monastery stands the world’s tallest copper Buddha statue, the “Jampa Buddha” or Maitreya Buddha, measuring 28 meters. Pay respects to the stupa commemorating the Tenth Panchen Lama. In the afternoon, drive downstream along the world’s highest river, the Yarlung Zangbo River, returning to Lhasa. Along the way, enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Yarlung Zangbo River, including the grassy Yarlung Zangbo Canyon and the picturesque landscapes of the Rear Tibet Desert. Visit the Tibetan Medicine and Culture Exhibition Center.
