Day 2Zao Snow Monsters - Zao Fox Village

Discover one of Japan’s most unique winter experiences at Mount Zao, home to the famous “Snow Monsters” (Juhyo). During winter, trees become covered in heavy snow and ice, forming surreal, monster-like shapes across the mountains. Take a ropeway up the slopes to witness this magical frozen landscape and enjoy panoramic views of the snow-covered scenery.

Continue to the Zao Fox Village, a special sanctuary where you can observe and interact with dozens of free-roaming foxes in a natural environment. Known as messengers of the gods in Japanese folklore, these foxes come in various colors and offer a rare and memorable wildlife experience.

This combination of natural wonder and cultural charm makes it a truly unforgettable highlight of your journey.

Day 3Ginzan Onsen - Sendai Ichibancho

Visit Ginzan Onsen, one of Japan’s most picturesque hot spring towns, known for its charming Taisho-era wooden buildings lining a scenic river. Especially magical in winter, the town is illuminated by warm gas lamps, creating a nostalgic and fairytale-like atmosphere.

Continue to Sendai Ichibancho, the city’s bustling shopping district. Stroll through its lively covered arcades filled with shops, restaurants, and local specialties, offering a perfect blend of modern city life and local culture.

Day 4Matsushima Bay Cruise - Outlet Mall

Enjoy a scenic cruise through Matsushima Bay, one of Japan’s Three Most Scenic Views. Marvel at the stunning landscape dotted with over 200 pine-covered islands, creating a breathtaking and tranquil atmosphere.

Afterwards, head to a popular outlet mall, where you can enjoy free time shopping for a wide range of international and Japanese brands at great value, making it a perfect stop for both relaxation and retail therapy.

Day 5Tsuruga Castle, Aizu-Wakamatsu - Lake Inawashiro

Visit Tsuruga Castle in Aizu-Wakamatsu, a beautifully reconstructed samurai castle known for its distinctive red-tiled roof and rich history. Explore the castle grounds and learn about the samurai heritage and the dramatic events of the Boshin War.

Continue to Lake Inawashiro, one of Japan’s largest lakes, often called the “Mirror Lake” for its crystal-clear waters reflecting the surrounding mountains. Enjoy the serene scenery and fresh air, making it a perfect spot to relax and take in the natural beauty of the region.

Day 6 Ouchi-juku Thatched Village – Nikko Toshogu Shrine

Step back in time with a visit to Ouchi-juku, a beautifully preserved Edo-period village known for its traditional thatched-roof houses. Once a post town along an ancient trade route, it now offers a glimpse into old Japan, with charming streets, local snacks, and a nostalgic atmosphere.

Continue to Nikko Toshogu Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Japan’s most ornate and important shrines. Dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate, the shrine is famous for its intricate carvings, vibrant colors, and iconic features such as the “Three Wise Monkeys” and the “Sleeping Cat.”

Day 7 Lake Chuzenji - Kegon Falls

Visit Lake Chuzenji, a serene mountain lake formed by volcanic activity from Mount Nantai. Surrounded by lush forests and scenic landscapes, it offers a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful seasonal views, especially during autumn foliage.

Continue to Kegon Falls, one of Japan’s most famous waterfalls, where water plunges dramatically from a height of nearly 100 meters. Enjoy the breathtaking sight from the observation platforms and experience the powerful beauty of nature up close.
